Unable to connect. Please check your network connection

I am struggling with exactly the same issue, proxy and firewall were looked at and these made no difference. Please advise

This generally indicates something external is preventing access.

Is this a Windows or Mac machine
Is it on your home network, or a corporate/company network?

It is a windows corporate machine that I use both at work and at home with exactly the same problem

It sounds like it is something specific to that machine.

Do you have another system (non-corporate) at home you can test with to verify?
When you are using the corporate system at home, are you using a VPN?
Is that corporate system running any endpoint protection software, anti-virus, or anything similar?
