Setup Stalls at Initializing

Trying to install odrivesync6252.exe on a Dell 8900S running Windows 10 1607.

Setup progress starts at “initializing” and never gets any further.

I have tried turning off antivirus and ensuring no other programs are running.

Any Ideas?

Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing, just so I can make sure I am on the same page?

If this is during install can you grab the install log files and send them to me? You shoul be able to find them in “%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Temp”. The files all begin with “odrive”. If you sort by “Date modified” they should be towards the top.

This looks like the same issue as this post from a while back: Installer stuck at "initializing"

Unfortunately there wasn’t a clear resolution to the problem. On that user’s system it was a general problem with Wix installers, which is what we use.

Two things to try first are:
Temporarily disable system restores
Create a manual restore point before the install
