This is reportedly fixed in MacOS 10.12.6 which I expect should be released in about 5 weeks, given their typical update schedule of ~60 days.
Same problem here. I thought it was just me but after it continuing for weeks, I finally decided to look into my settings to fix the issue. Thatās when I found this thread. I guess I feel a little better knowing itās a software issue and there is supposed to be a fix coming. Fingers crossed the help comes sooner than later. Thanks for starting and contributing to this thread all~
Same issue here, however python -c "import webbrowser; webbrowser.open('https://www.odrive.com');"
performs as expected, and opens my default browser.
Accessing anything from the odrive menubar or context menu that initiates a browser window will always open with Safari.

Me too! Can you fix it before the next Apple update? Thatās a long time to wait.
Hi @greggoodman80,
It should only be about 3 weeks. I know its a pain, but we would rather wait for the official fix rather than patching in a workaround.
Iām also having the same issue! It opens Firefox instead of Chrome. I guess we will wait for the new update!
I have same issue. Firefox instead of Chrome. If I remove Firefox, the Safari will instead of Chrome.
MacOS 10.12.6 has been released and should address this issue.

I can confirm this is solved in MacOS 10.12.6
Same issue here, odrive opens firefox even though chrome is my default browser. Iām using MacOS Sierra 10.12.5. Any ETA on a fix?
Ok never mind the update to 10.12.6 fixed it for me.
Guys, whenever i click a file from Finder it opens Firefox, if i delete firefox it open Safari when Chrome is my default browser, you really need to fix this as itās ridiculous you charge me for this and you canāt even default to the correct browser. Sort it out.

When I open announcements or user guide it always opens in Firefox even though Apple > Systems Preferences > General > Default Browser is set to Chrome and all other apps that trigger urls open Chrome. How do I fix this?
