Want to Reduce My Amazon Cloud Drive Size by Removing Duplicate Files

Hello @Odrive,

Please, I want to reduce the size of my Amazon Cloud Drive by removing duplicate files therein. Please, any experience or idea on how I get this done easily will be really appreciated.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi @awoobforknowledge,
We don’t have a built-in way to do this with odrive. I can think of some ways to do this with CLI scripting, but it would be fairly involved, so not very easy to pull off.

How much data do you currently have in Amazon Drive (files, folders, and total size)?

Thanks a lot @Tony,

How do I get such data from Amazon Drive? I mean the total number of files and folders ?

Here is what I could get from Amazon Drive:

  • Available: 42.2 GB
  • Videos: 999.9 GB used
  • Files: 961.0 GB used
  • Photos: 49.9 GB used

My 2 TB is 98% full.

Thanks a lot.

Hi @awoobforknowledge,
Thanks for the information. I was just curious about the scope of data. It sounds like you have quite a bit.

I don’t have any easy way to perform deduplication on the data, but I have raised this to the product team as an item for consideration in the future.

Hi @Tony,

Thanks so much. That will be really appreciated and looking forward to that as soon as possible.

Could it also be considered for future that Odrive is schedule to auto-start/auto-run at a particular time?

Thanks a lot.
