upload a file from Internet directly

Can I use odrive to upload a file from Internet directly to Google Drive, without downloading to local computer?

Hi @j.thalbach,
No, odrive would need access to the file locally in order to upload it.

Can you explain your use case a bit more? What is an example of what you would like to do?

I want to upload a big file https://rbbmediapmdp-a.akamaihd.net/content-de/cb/93/cb93bf43-8fb3-46f9-b095-a747bc04387e/cb93bf43-8fb3-46f9-b095-a747bc04387e_hd1080-avc540.mp4 directly to Google Drive without downloading it to my computer firstly.

Thanks for the added details @j.thalbach! It is an interesting use case.

Surely you can upload a file directly to Google Drive without using odrive. The problem then is to prevent odrive from syncing to your local drive. Or have I missed something in this scenario?

Hi,

In my native Google Drive there is a service called “remote upload” from Offcloud which can be accessed by New > Remote Upload (Offcloud). Where is it in Odrive?

Hi @j.thalbach,
odrive doesn’t have this feature.
