Synced folders/files not displaying correctly

Have had a few users report synced folders and files not displaying correctly. Everything appears to be functioning and syncing just fine, but a visual eyesore. I did recently deploy v7426 out to all our endpoints. Any ideas?

Hi @lopsahl ,
It looks like the normal folder icon has a blank file icon on top of it, is that correct?

This is only happening within the odrive folder?

Does the effect stay when you switch the view (to content, tiles, details, large icons, etc…)?

Hey @Tony ,

Correct, a blank file icon is displayed over any “synced” items. That behavior is present regardless of the view. In the image below, I changed the view to Large Icons, and synced a new job (26013) to see if the mirrored previously synced items -

This is while on Odrive version 7434 and Windows 11 24H2.

Thanks @lopsahl .

This is very strange. I haven’t been able to reproduce it yet.

Are you able to test is a repair installation with the latest installer fixes it?

In the meantime I am trying to figure out if our custom icon handling is somehow causing this in certain circumstances.

We have a few users of Odrive, and we are gradually getting this issue as well.

buildNumber: 7454
Windows 11 25H2

@Tony as @david.groves mentioned above, we too are still having this issue intermittently. It appears that the 7454 upgrade did not resolve.

A reboot of the machine seems to stop the issue temporarily.

Hi @david.groves and @lopsahl ,
My apologies for not replying sooner.

I haven’t found a definitive cause for this. It is interesting that a reboot is seen to fix it. I believe this is happening when we autoupdate the software, so its possible it is linked to permissions (an autoupdate updates the binaries in user-space vs doing a full installation).

It may also be that a restart does fix it and it just seemed temporary because we pushed out a new version via autoupdate.

If you get a chance, can you see if a reboot fixes it again?

Thanks!
