Not allowed files only in one comptuer

I don’t know why but in Computer B I have 26 files that are not being allowed/synced.
These files were uploaded from Computer A to google drive and it’s worth noting another user has been able to successfully fully sync the folder.

I am attaching a screenshot of the files. We are all using Mac here.

I tried
1 - Restarting odrive
2 - Using the “Refresh” option in odrive
3 - Using the “Sync” option in odrive even after having done that before.
4 - Using the “Sync” option with all 3 checkboxes selected (Include, Save and apply, Force refresh).
4 - Restart the computer
5 - Wait 24 hours

My drive has 600GB available.

Any suggestions?
Is there like a Step-by-step troubleshooting guide on “What to do if…” that we can follow when we encounter an issue?

Thanks!

Hi @mac25,
This error is a safety feature that the client has. It has detected that the file changed on the remote storage is reported as being older than the one you currently have on your computer.

This feature is there to prevent in unintended overwrites that may occur in the remote storage from propagating to all local clients. Typically older versions of files overwriting newer versions is not desired (but not always). Basically it is a data loss prevention mechanism.

The sync activity log will have more information about the specifics of the file update that is being blocked, including any date and time differences.

You can disable this check with an advanced configuration option, which will then allow the file in the remote storage to be downloaded locally.

Tony, thanks.
That safety feature is definitely important. Thanks for providing a way to turn it off if needed.
In a desperate attempt to get the files, I unsynced the entire folder and synced it again. That worked - note that instead of unsyncing the entire folder I tried to unsync each individual “not allowed” file but it wouldn’t let me.

Now, why would this original “The remote files is older than the local file” happen if I never had this file before?
What can we do to prevent this to happen again or minimize our chances of happening again.?

I am happy to send you the logs if it helps.
Thank you so much,

Hey @mac25,
The sync activity log should show more details about what was being detected. You can get to that from the odrive tray menu at the top under “Ready to sync new changes/Syncing changes”. If you send that to me, or just post the relevant sections, I can take a look.
