External Hard Drive Problem - Need to Reformat

As an avid photography I keep all of my raw files and my edited jpeg files on an external hard drive to save space on my MacBook Air.

I have been using ODrive to sync them to my Amazon Drive and until today I didn’t have a problem. However this afternoon when starting my computer it got a critical warning (see attached screenshot) indicating that I need to reformat my external drive.

If I reformat the external drive what do I need to do to have ODrive sync my files that are currently on my Amazon Drive?

Thank you for help.

Hi @bfreelove325,
If this is setup using a “sync to odrive” folder, you can right-click->“remove sync” from that folder, which will disable the sync relationship. You can then format the drive and setup the “sync to odrive” relationship again. This will allow you to see all of the data on Amazon Drive again and you can download the files you need.

Make sure you don’t have any unsynced changes before you perform the “remove sync” action, so you can be sure that all of your files have been uploaded.
