Onedrive character limitation because of Odrive encryption

Hello,

So, I’ve learned that Onedrive character limitation is 430. My issue is that the encrypted information adds many more characters to the uploads. This ends up stopping my upload or just doesn’t allow me to upload those files.

Is there a way to limit the amount of characters odrive adds when it encrypts?

Am I missing something else here?

I’m using Odrive 1.0.6284.0.

Hi @finallyalive1,
Unfortunately there isn’t a way to reduce the encrypted names aside from shortening the original filename. Since we use zero-knowledge encryption on both the file content and the file, the names end up being pretty long, as you can see.

Apologies for the inconvenience. Our next version of encryption deals with this better.

As quickly as we can. It’s been in development for quite a while, now and it is the top priority in Engineering, but I can’t provide a delivery date, unfortunately.
