right now I have 698 "not allowed files. Why? These date back all the way to last year?

If you click on a file listed in not allowed, it will pop-up a message indicating why it is not allowed. Chances are it is due to an illegal name.
We recently released an update to the client that makes these files visible when encountered on the remote storage. Previously they were just ignored, completely.
