its kind of a big deal that a main selling feature is not simple stupid.

Firstly are you on a trial or premium? that’s needed first!

Hi @wolfhammer.m,
Currently you would need to:

  1. Download all of your files from Amazon Drive: https://docs.odrive.com/docs/sync-your-odrive#section--sync-all-files-and-subfolders-
  2. Create an odrive Encryptor folder, using Amazon Drive as the backing storage: https://docs.odrive.com/docs/odrive-encryption-encryptor
  3. Copy your downloaded data from step 1 into the Encryptor folder you setup in step 2.

Once the data is placed into the local Encrytor folder it will be encrypted and then uploaded to Amazon Drive.

We are working on improving our next iteration of encryption so that it is much simpler and will allow in-line encryption selection, so you do not have to move files around.

What is in-line encryption and is there any way to encrypt the files already on the cloud?

Hi @wolfhammer.m,
In-line encryption would mean that you do not need to copy the files into a specific Encryptor folder. Any files that you want to encrypt will still need to be brought down to the local system, encrypted, and then re-uploaded, but this process will be more streamlined.

I appreciate the engagement, and I know that the post was well-intentioned, but the official odrive forum is not the proper place to advertise solutions that are in direct competition with odrive products. Additionally, the product that was suggested has known issues working with odrive.

Please PM me if you have any questions or wish to discuss further.

Thank you for your understanding.
