De/Encryption without odrive client

#1

I’m on my last days of evaluating odrive and still have one “show stopper” left.

Is it possible to access data in an encrypted folder without odrive client? It’s nice that all the encryption happens “magically” without anything to do for the user but i’m worried that this causes a vendor lock-in.
So whenever i decide not to use odrive anymore (or odrive stops working for whatever reason) all the encrypted files are burned to ashes.

I’ve looked through the forms already but so far haven’t gotten any real answer to that.

Another discussion on this here: Decrypting Data without odrive?

I’m also very uncomfortable not having this in place, despite the promises.

Hi @facebook and @Jon_V

Here is the answer to this question:

I realize that folks are concerned about this, but I’m not sure what else I can say that hasn’t already been said. A standalone utility will be made in the not-too-distant future and you can can currently decrypt with the existing odrive client.
